Artist:
Thomas Woods
I was born and raised in Indiana. Graduate of Carmel High School, I went to Cincinnatti Art Academy for my BFA in Painting and Print-making. Both of my parents are talented artists and supported my interests growing up. My father was an avid photographer and helped me learn the craft. Growing up with a darkroom, and a full woodshop helped me explore any creative interest I might have had. My mother's masterful calligraphy was, and is, inspiring to witness. I was also influenced by many of the visual artists my mother would take me to see from the works of Arik Brauer, Rudolf Hausner, and other artists of the "Fantastic Realism" movement. There is no visual art form that doesn't interest me to some degree. I love to make anything with most any media to express and idea I might have.
I have had my artwork shown in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Cincinnatti, Chicago, and SandDiego. Many of these were small informal shows, some grouped with other artists. I have had my work used in Film and have enjoyed working with many professional artists. I am a working artist and there are always too many ideas for me to ever create them all, but I always love trying. |
