Artist: Larry Agnello

Larry Agnello graduated from Hofstra University in NY with a BS in Graphic Design, where he also learned he had a deep passion for painting and sculpture as well. Working as a Graphic Designer for over 20 years, Agnello has designed book covers for a NY publisher for 15 years. In 1990 Larry spent 8 months backpacking through several East African countries and studying local culture. After relocating to Indianapolis in 2008, Agnello got back to his painting, sculpture, wood carving, and began experimenting with stone and marble to create unique mosaics and clocks. His use of scrap metal, clock parts, and found objects eventually combined with his love for African art and masks, developing into a blend of sculpture and mosaic that explores the contrast between old and new, past and future.  More of Larry Agnello's work can be seen at the Renaissance Gallery on One South Range Line Road.
