Carmel Goes Red
Carmel, IN – This year marks the inaugural Carmel Goes Red event sponsored by the Heart Center of Indiana and the American Heart Association to promote awareness of women’s heart disease. The event will take place in the Carmel Arts & Design District on Main Street on Saturday, July 22nd.
The merchants of the Arts & Design District have worked hard to make this event possible. Joanne Kouris, of Chaos, a clothing store in the district, has been a partner in putting the event together. The day will feature events for the whole family including live entertainment, health screenings, kids activities, a food tent, and red wine tasting.
The City of Carmel is proud to be hosting the event for the first time. The City has been implementing initiatives to promote a healthy lifestyle. Recently, a smoking ban was enacted in local restaurants that allow patrons under the age of eighteen. The City also offers a wide variety of parks and recreational trails, including the Monon Trail, to encourage residents to stay fit.
