The Arts & Design District event committee is excited to present an opportunity to be a part of this year’s “Rock the District” event in the Carmel Arts & Design District.  The 2008 Rock the District event takes place Saturday, July 19.  Rock the District is a free community event open to the public drawing large crowds from both Carmel and cities throughout the state.  

Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success, bringing more than 7,000 people of all ages to the District during the Friday night preview party and Saturday festival event.  The two-day event included a District-wide sidewalk sale and more than eight hours of great music on two stages, culminating in a special performance by national recording artist and District resident, Jon McLaughlin.  More than 3,500 people filled the main stage area and surrounding streets for Jon McLaughlin’s performance alone. 

The overwhelming response from last year’s event has created much anticipation and a growing interest for this year’s community festival making it unrivaled in the Carmel area.  Plans for Rock the District 2008 are even bigger and more exciting, hosting a wider variety of entertainers and a more expansive sidewalk sale.
