Stop by the Monon Depot Museum in December for some fun hands-on crafts for the kids. Participants will get to make winter figures with supplies from our craft closet. Activities are appropriate for children ages 5-11.
While the kids are busy creating take-home crafts, parents can enjoy looking at beautiful collections of antique Santas, holiday decorations, and historic Christmas cards. The Depot gift shop will also be open for shoppers who want to pick up unique Carmel-related holiday gifts and stocking stuffers for friends and family: a broad selection of “Carmel” pottery – mugs, bowls, and pitchers – can stock the kitchen. Carmel coloring books designed by local artist Carol Skinner will put a smile on a budding young artist’s face. Warm coverlettes featuring local sites offer the perfect winter comfort. Historic playing cards will charm the poker or euchre lover.
Activities and shopping will be ongoing from 2-4 p.m. on the following days: Dec. 10, 18, 27, and 28. Entrance to the museum and all activities are free. The Monon Depot Museum is located at 211 First St. SW. All events are sponsored by the Carmel Clay Historical Society.
