The show is entitled "Peregrinación" (Pilgrimage) - centered around the concept of spiritual journey by renowned artist Carlos Estévez.

“Pilgrimage is a spiritual journey where reality is just a reference; information that becomes letters and symbols of an existential alphabet where we get the instruments to write our comments about life. I travel a lot in my mind, using reality as starting point to looking for information of the human soul. The reality is a big text and every object is an incarnation of humans’ dreams, needs, illusions, thoughts and feelings. I enjoy very much the interpretation of this text and I translated it trough my vision in an art work.”

Guest Artist: Paula Franz-Scott
Franz-Scott creates with hand-felted wool. At the beginning of the process, she is always fascinated by the chaotic blur of colors and textures in the layout of the wool cloud. Within a short time water, wool and agitation organize the chaos to reveal line and shape, as the wool becomes felt. The only tools involved—her hands—have changed over the years, but she has learned to trust them to create work inspired by what life has taught her. Paula is former Lead Artist of the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She sells her work at the By Hand Gallery in Bloomington, Indiana and participates in Indiana art fairs and other festivals around the state.

Franz-Scott will be demonstrating her talents during the gallery walk . Please stop by to see a demonstration of magically turning wool to felt.

111 W. Main Street, Suite 130
Guest Artist: Lee Ellis
My wood working career started with building and repairing furniture.  I have had a lathe for many years, but started learning what it would do in 1995 with a trip to an AAW annual meeting.  I have taken many classes, attended symposiums and practiced many hours to learn new skills.  My pieces are created to show the natural features of the wood and are one of a kind.  Bowls are finished with salad bowl finish and are all safe for food.  The burls are a unique growth on some trees and have very interesting features.  I use a bowl saver tool to turn many pieces from one burl and use the smaller cut offs for the vases and Christmas ornaments.

111 W. Main Street, Suite 130
