Indiana Artists - Internationally Known and Local Favorites
Magdalena Gallery of Art will be featuring Edgar Cano, an international artist specializing in hyper-realistic paintings.  Cano graduated with a degree from Faculty of Plastic Arts at the University of Veracruz in Mexico.  He has displayed his works in over twenty exhibitions worldwide and has been recognized in regional painting and drawing competitions.  He has held work as an illustrator for the State Government Veracruz and has been involved in set design for theater creations.  Cano will be present at the gallery to showcase his work and greet visitors during the Gallery Walk.

Also featured in the Suite 130 space will be Clyde Pennington and Ryan Feeney, metal artists with Indy Art Forge.  Pennington and Feeney create a wide range of subjects in the strength of their metals, including wildlife and architectural pieces. Lisa Pelo-McNiece is a local blown-glass artist living in Clayton, Indiana. Currently, she is the Department Head of the Glass Studio at the Indianapolis Art Center, where she is also a glassblowing instructor.  Pelo-McNiece is also one of the artists exhibiting year-round at the Magdalena Gallery of Art in the Arts and Design District. Jacquelyn McConnell of Van Dourn Designs is known for her passionate tenacity for every project. Clients’ requests have not only kept her style fresh, but expanded her style to include realistic, impressionistic, whimsical, edgy, and contemporary to something totally new - “Boucle.”

“Boucle” is a raised customized decorative pattern that can be applied to walls, ceilings, cornices, art work and furniture. Recent applications include: Large stainless steel refrigerator, complex Tuscan border, Decorator Show House cornice board (room 18), morning room ceiling, and a “Rock the District” guitar. She will be exhibiting her work in Fine Art, Boucle’ faux finishes and Mural Designs.
