Gallery Involvement - Friday, May 22, 5pm - 10pm

Art & Soul
1 S. Range Line Road
Art & Soul Gallery will display five commissioned works by world-renowned sports artist, WK Gilbert.  Each abstract piece portrays a famous Indy Car including the "Marmon Wasp," the first car to win the Indianapolis 500, as well as the cars of Al Unser Snr., Al Unser Jr., Bobby Unser and AJ Foyt. 

WK Gilbert is also the official artist of the upcoming film portraying the events and people of the first Indianapolis 500 in 1911 by filmmaker Justin Escue, of "Hoosiers" and "Rudy" fame.  Click here to learn more about artist WK Gilbert.

Blue Egg Gallery

For the gallery walk the Blue Egg Gallery will have a drawing for an 11x 13 print by R. Carol Skinner of the Indy 500.  Carol will also be doing a live painting demonstrating that evening.

Evan Lurie Gallery

30 W. Main Street
Exhibits from artists Leonel Matheu, Dale Nally and John Lahuis.   Dale Nally will be present to lecture prior to the Gallery Walk – Time TBD.

Magdalena Gallery of Art

Indiana Artists - Internationally Known and Local Favorites
Magdalena Gallery of Art will be showcasing the work of Indianapolis artist James Wille Faust and will have a selection of limited edition prints of his work also.  Included in the group for the show will be Indianapolis artists John Domont, known for rural landscapes and florals, Rita Spalding who is best known for her work with still-life compositions, John Reynolds, who's farm animals are popular, and Lisa Pello-McNiece, a glass blower/designer known especially for her custom installations.

New works will also be shown by gallery owner and internationally known artist Magdalena Segovia.

Race memorabilia from the Indianapolis 500, from Mark Grosser or Grosser & Co., will be on display in the windows as well as images of his one-of-a-kind racecar jewelry.

Gary Buyer from Mickey's Autograph Arena, Indianapolis, will be exhibiting autographed photos of Indy car drivers for sale.

Also featuring black and white merchandise from Tickle Your Fancy and furniture from Accent details.

Paxton Waters, Architecture, P.C.

Paxton Waters Architecture is an architectural firm that designs motor sports facilities.  On display will be Paxton's past and future projects including the "500".  Paxton is the full scale set designer of a movie about the first 500 race in 1911.  The movie screenwriter is Angelo Pizzo, who's resume includes "Rudy" and "Hoosiers".  The movie will debut in may of 2011.  Come by and see previews of the "500".
