Dog Day Afternoon is packed full of family friendly activities for you and your pooch! Remember to visit our registration page to print out and complete the registration forms early!
Dog Walk
Start the day off on the right paw at Dog Walk held at the Carmel High School soccer fields at 10am! Registration and parking will be next to the soccer fields, which can be accessed through the road off of 2nd Street N.E. (Turn on 4th Ave NE off of Main St). This event is free! Please stop by the registration table to sign in your dog, and then enjoy walking around the fields on this beautiful September Sunday!
Registration Required. Register by downloading and filling out this form and bringing to the event or you can register at the event.
Dog Walk Rules
- Dogs must be leashed and under complete control of owners at all times.
- The dog walk is an at-your-own-pace dog walk and is less than a mile.
- Water stations will be available.
- Poop bags will be available on-site. Please pick up your dog’s poop.
- Dogs finishing the walk will receive a special Dog Day Afternoon reflector tag.
Dog Day Afternoon
After the Dog Walk, head down Main Street to Dog Day Afternoon. Parking is available in the Carmel Lions Club lot, the Indiana Design Center parking garage, and along various streets. Food, merchants, artists, rescues, and animal enthusiasts will be ready and waiting on N. Range Line Road. You won't want to miss all of our activities!
Puppy Parade
For a $10 donation to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, you and your pooch can strut your stuff on the runway! Prizes will be awarded for:
- Best Look-Alike
- Best Dressed
- K9 Congeniality
Fashion Show
The latest fall fashions for pets and humans alike are hitting the runway. Fashions provide by Mary & Martha's Exceedingly Chic Boutique, and Moochie & Co., Artisan Masterpiece, Pillowtalk, Accent Details, In Vogue, Maurice's, Jos. A. Banks!
Microchipping
A registered veterinarian will be at Dog Day Afternoon to microchip your pet for a minimal fee. Microchipping is a safe and easy way to ensure pets will be returned home to their owners if they are ever lost or run away from home.
Puppy Paw Painting
Let your furry friend unleash his or her inner artist! Pups use their paws to help decorate the Dog Day Afternoon t-shirts.
Silent Auction
You won't want to miss these auction items! Browse over a hundred items and place your bid! All proceeds go directly to the Humane Society for Hamilton County. Check out our Auction (link) tab for more information!
Silly Safari
These funny guys are bringing tons of creepy crawlers and critters for the crowd to enjoy!
Educational Seminars
Education about spaying, neutering, and overall care for pets will be on hand so your four-legged friend can enjoy life the to the fullest! |
