Summer Miniature Workshops at the Museum!
- Fine Silver Workshops - June 2, 2012
Indiana artist Marti Icenogle will conduct two workshops on working with fine silver. Both workshops will be held at the museum on Saturday June 2, 2012. Attendees may choose to bring their lunch or eat at any one of the nearby restaurants.
- Fine Silver Tray Workshop - June 2, 2012 beginning at 9 am
Cost $45.00
Students will work with silver metal clay to create a miniature round tray of fine silver (99.9% pure silver) for your dollhouse or room box. They will have the option of embellishing the center of their tray with one of several designs or adding an initial to create a family heirloom for their dollhouse residents. As students make their trays, they will also be learning about the process of working with metal clay to make miniatures. Instructor will provide all supplies. Class size is limited to 12.
- Fine Silver Bowl Workshop - June 2, 2012 beginning at 1 pm
Cost $45.00
Students will create a miniature round bowl of fine silver (99.9% pure silver) to sit on the sideboard in your dollhouse dining room or a side table in the parlor. Students will learn about a number of different ways to embellish their bowl, and then select the one that best fits the style of their dollhouse. As students design their bowls, they will also be learning the basic techniques involved in working with metal clay to make miniatures. Instructor will provide all supplies. Class size is limited to 12.
- Workshops with Sue Veeder - July 7, 2012
Well known miniature artist Sue Veeder will conduct two workshops at the museum on Saturday July 7, 2012. Attendees may choose to bring their lunch or eat at any one of the nearby restaurants.
- Stained Glass - July 7, 2012 beginning at 9 am
Cost $75.00
Stained glass class will focus on creating a pretty classic pattern that can be done in any colors you wish. We will cut lead tape very fine and apply it to the thin plastic panel, then paint it with glass stains. It measures roughly 2" by 2 1/2". Kits will be supplied as well as paints, cutting surfaces, and knives. Students should bring a fine paint brush and tweezers, as well as magnification and lighting. The instructor will have extra tools available for use. Class size limited to 10 people.
- China Painting - July 7, 2012 beginning at 1 pm
Cost $75.00
This china painting class will consist of painting a four piece place setting of Chrysnbon 'china', painting them and finishing them to look like actual porcelain. Students can bring their own patterns to copy or use some of Sue’s examples. Lighting and magnification are recommended, as well as a very fine paint brush (5/0 or smaller) for detail. The instructor will supply everything else. Class size limited to 10 people.
